Happy Thanksgiving!

we're gonna continue teaching her. Festival starts next week though and we will be at the VC every night plus during the days too so we will have VERY little time to do anything in our area. I think the only people we will see are Tako or Cristhian. Speaking of which he's getting baptized on Sunday =]. Him and an investigator of the Elders (Claudine) are getting baptized together. It's gonna be awesome. His family is really poor, so S. Schoney and I are going to buy a white shirt and tie for him. He wants to look like the Elders (He ADORES them!), but the fam can't afford to buy him a suit. We can't either, so we go for the next best thing. Shirt and tie =]. His baptismal interview is Friday =] We taught a deaf family yesterday! They are really cool. He is Chinese and she's Hispanic, and they have the CUTEST kids!!!!!!! She's pregnant, and has 4 y/o twins, and another older girl, so it's a little crazy in their life. They're devout baptists but willing to listen, and sometimes all it takes is a little openness for the spirit to pop His head through and pierce them. Festival starts next week, so as a VC trainer I have a LOT of stuff to do to get everything ready. We have Ambassadors nights (Dec. 4th and 5th) where the VC will be closed to the general public, then Dec. 6th starts the madhouse. It's gonna be crazytown. Niel L. Anderson of the 70 is coming for Ambassador's night on the 4th, so that'll be cool. Maybe I can take a pic for you =]. I'm in the Christmas program again this year =] YAY! Which means practice too. AND the sister in charge (S. Hamblin) looked on my mission record they have and found out that I play cello so she asked around for one and a member is letting us borrow it through the Christmas season, which means I will be playing it for the program. Oh dear! I began practicing the end of last week and for the first couple days my fingers burned. They had definitely lost their Calous's and it hurt so bad. They are finally feeling better and beginning to harden up so I'm praying that by Christmas I can play like a pro...... ;-]. We are also doing musical performances for Zone conf, and I'm playing it in that too. That's Dec. 12th, so not a lot of time to prepare. I think it'll all turn out well though. Mom and dad I hope you are calling those people on the list to make arrangements. We can do last minute things when I call on Christmas. Also, for those of you who need to prepare for my return Jan. 2nd is the official release, but I won't be home till about 10 days later. Details will be worked out later. OH AND festival has now been extended through the weekend after the 2nd mom and dad, so plan on going to something at the VC with me k? =] Love and miss you all!

HAPPY B-DAY!!!

Happy Birthday to Daniel and Mom...the young and the restless =]. Well, this week has been really good! We are planning for Cristhian's baptism Nov. 30th. He's excited. Also, we gave Tako a b-date and she accepted for Dec. 7th. She doesn't feel ready but we are praying and fasting that she will be ready by that time, so it'll happen. She's cool too! We promised her in the name of the Lord that her son would get better if she read the Book of Mormon, and guess what! It happened. He's better and she's excited to go to church on Sunday =]. I love the power of faith. Also, we took one of my favorite Less Actives to the VC for a tour and he cried! He loved it, and felt the spirit was trying to tell him to share the gospel. I said DO IT! He's 23 and not doing much with his life except going to school, so why not. Of course, he'll need to go to church first =] but it's possible. Sorry this is short, but that's pretty much all that happened. It's a lot of good stuff in a short amount of time. Hope you all have a wonderful thanksgiving! We're gonna make cookies for our investigators =]. yay for cookie love. Love ya!

Transfers....

Transfers are today and of course S. Schoney and I are staying the same. This one is only going to be 5 weeks long which is kinda weird, but Dec. 20th is transfer day (which I will be part of), but after that I stay for another 2 weeks. That means S. Hamblin, S. Kwun and I are going to be in a weird threesome always at the VC. I have no idea where we're gonna live but Pres. will work it out. Things are so good here! I love working with deaf people. Hey, remember our investigator (Cristhian) I told you about who's 12 and his mom said he can't get baptized till next year....well, our district fasted together that her heart would be softened and the next time we went, S. Schoney asked her about it, and she said he can be baptized! She knows what we're teaching is good, and is willing to help Cristhian be active =]. That was a miracle! AND we finally got ahold of Mike. His mom is not happy with him and told him not to meet with us (she thought we were girlfriends or something) so waltzed on over there and told her who we really are and why we are there. She was fine with it to our face, but when we told Mike he said she's fake....what do I know. Whatever. So we're gonna meet with him at the library every Thursday (his only day off). Grateful for that. Tako is awesome! We are going with her to the VC this week to watch the Joseph Smith movie and teach her the gospel of Jesus Christ. It'll be good. She couldn't go to church last week cuz her 8 month old baby was really sick, like vomiting everything up. She was in the hospital with him for 3 days. He was born like 3 months early or something as it is so he still has the tube in the nose for breathing and he's 8 months old. It's pretty serious when he's sick. Eek. We've been praying he'll get better so she can go to church. She really wants to =], she loved it last time and made some good friends. Please pray for it! I really hope you got the list!!! I sent it last week... It's hard trying to balance my time between my area, and everything I have to do at the VC. I've been so scatterbrained the last few weeks. I think it's getting better.... Please don't send me anything for Christmas! I don't wanna have to send it back before going home, so just keep it till I get there, and then you can give it to me....or you can just help me settle in again =]. That would be good. I think that's it. Thanks for being troopers and reading all my letters. I really appreciate all you do. Love you!

Happy November!!

Ok, so get this. We went to the temple on Halloween, can't get any better than that. Then we spent the night at some sisters house 45 min north so we could work in that area the next morning (since my area is all of MD and the states around us), so we park and everything goes fine till the morning comes and my comp and I go outside to load our car up, and......there is no car! We got towed!!!! It was so lame. Apparently the sign for towing was really small, none of the spaces were marked and the other sisters forgot to tell us that they were reserved and you have to have a permit. So we paid a good amount and got our car back from some shady towing company. Argh! All I could do was laugh at our pitiful situation. So our investigator Mike who was supposed to be baptized soon just got a job and we haven't been able to meet with him for almost 2 weeks. To be too busy is a route Satan uses to stop your progression. Tako is awesome though. She couldn't go to church on Sunday cuz her baby was sick (he was born like 4 or 5 months early). He's 8 months old but has regular doc appts, and uses oxygen, so when he's sick it's serious news. He's a little better but will be going to a specialist this week. We're gonna meet with her on Friday and try to get her to the VC to watch a movie or something. I think that's about it. I hope (mom and dad) you got the list I sent. lemme know what plans we can make....I'm gonna apply this week and I'm thinking I'm going to put down Jan. 19th for a start date (or around there...). We will be home by then right? I want a little time to settle down and move up to the Mesa area...by the way, does anyone have room in their house for a renegade?? =] lemme know. I love and miss you all!
